This device is the first multi-functional linear accelerator with intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image guided radiation therapy (IGRT). It enables clinicians to simultaneously image and deliver radiation, allowing for aggressive treatment of tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
Other advanced technologies include: Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), which is particularly useful in cases where tumors are not well separated from vital organs, such as the case with lung or prostate cancer.
